My first approach is to do a complete tune up since it was done one and half years ago. You will see a grounded ignition coil wire shorted which was rubbing the exhaust manifold that I replaced.

A good way to check a 1996 Dodge misfire fix is to have a quick road test which I did with the vehicle owner. We drove the vehicle for 5 miles and so far the misfire did not return including the check engine light. Please be cautioned though that the misfire code can still re-occur after a few days of driving.
