Description: Alfred Hitchcock Presents ran on tv from 1955 to 1965, then was brought back to life by the USA Network (remember that one?) and ran in the 1985-86 season.
In its initial run, it started out on CBS (1955-1960), then jumped to NBC (1960-1962), only to return to CBS (1962-1964) again and then back to NBC (1964-1965). When the show first began, it was a 30 minute program. It expanded to an hour in the 1962 season and the title was changed to The Alfred Hitchcock Hour.

The episode I remember the best was The Jar, by Ray Bradbury.

The show was syndicated and is probably still being shown somewhere in the US.
