    Ben Harper (1969-) is a rock, blues, reggae and gospel musician from Claremont, CA. He leads two groups, The Innocent Criminals and Relentless7. He has recorded with blues/folk/world music musician Taj Mahal and the gospel group The Five Blind Boys of Alabama. He learned how to play slide guitar in the 1980's listening to recordings by the 1930's bluesman Robert Johnson. A versatile musician, he plays keyboards and drums as well as guitar. He was instrumental in helping jump-start the career of the modern rock musician Jack Johnson.
