  • Description: Videography issues aside, these actually weren't too bad considering I hadn't even been on a vaulting horse for 3 weeks! (homework, exams, sleep, etc.)
    The Good:
    Got some height on mount. Seat is nice and soft and in harmony with the horse, spine and arms look level for a change. Flag is reasonably straight, balanced, and down leg stayed glued to the horse, finally! Mill actually has some decent stretch! Scissors 1st half legs stayed pretty straight and turn initiated from the hips. 2nd half actually cleared the horse pretty well and didn't get stuck half way around like usual. Stand looked very secure. Legs were mostly straight in Flank, got a decent pike down on 1H, and I just own 2H no matter what day it is...
    The Bad:
    The only big complaints I have is no leg elevation in mount, back 'slightly' hollow in seat, shoulders were high and twisted in flag, seat off horse for 3rd pass in Mill (that's -1.0 if the judge saw it), not much of a forward swing for 1H scissors, dove upper body too early, bent legs at beginning of back swing, and just swinging too slowly (stupid long legs!), much the same deal for 1H Flank plus not really reaching a straight body position before pike down, legs came apart a little for 2H.
    The Ugly:
    my face...

    Overal, I'd like to see a little more effort in the flight exercises (mount, scissors, flank) to start getting some real height and arm extension, and to get the kinks out of Flag.
