Our guide estimated that this poor chap met his death after being kicked by a giraffe. He came to that conclusion because the kick clearly opened the lions skull. He also estimated it to have been dead around 24 hours. Vultures, hyenas and others took advantage of the free meal. The giraffe in the park had young; I'm sure this lion thought it might be an easy meal.
