  • Description: In my back wheel, I could hear a high pitched grinding noise that I was trying to get rid of. That in conjunction with reading that the no-name freewheels that these Schwinn hybrids come with can go out, pushed me to replace the stock freewheel with a Shimano one that I paid 20 dollars for with shipping. I think the grinding noise is gone, but otherwise, both freewheels are equally noisy. However, maybe the Shimano one is more reliable, for better peace of mind on long trips.
