Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao on Wednesday held talks with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Uzbek President Islam Karimov and Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev respectively in Beijing.
The three presidents arrived in Beijing on Tuesday evening for the 12th Meeting of the Council of Heads of Member States of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) on Wednesday and Thursday.
During the meeting with Ahmadinejad, Wen said China opposes any Middle-East country's push to acquire nuclear weapons and upholds that the Iranian nuclear issue should be addressed through diplomatic channels in an impartial way.
At the meeting with Karimov, Wen said the establishment of the strategic partnership between China and Uzbekistan has provided broad prospect for the two countries' deepening cooperation in various fields, said Wen while meeting with Karimov.
Wen said that China will strengthen communication and coordination with the Uzbek side to achieve a steady growth in bilateral trade.
China is willing to help Uzbekistan raise its industrial level and will encourage Chinese enterprises to cooperate with Uzbek counterparts in building industrial parks, Wen continued, adding that the legitimate interests of enterprises from both sides should be well protected.
Karimov said China has played a significant role in promoting peaceful development in Central Asia and is a trusted partner of Uzbekistan.
Fruitful achievements have been made in bilateral cooperation and cooperation under the SCO framework, said Karimov. He also thanked China for the help and support to his country.
He said Uzbekistan would like to learn from China's experience, expand bilateral cooperation in fields such as economy and trade, energy, railway, finance and technology, and cement coordination with China within the SCO.
At the meeting with Nazarbayev, Wen said China and Kazakhstan have made great progress in exchanges and cooperation since the two nations established a comprehensive strategic partnership.
He said China is ready to work together with Kazakhstan to map out a plan of cooperation on bilateral economic and trade, as well as in adjacent regions, while boosting cooperation in such fields as energy, railways, agriculture and finance.
The premier said the Chinese government encourages domestic enterprises to invest in Kazakhstan to improve the industry's competitiveness.
For his part, Nazarbayev said that China has strongly supported Kazakhstan in dealing with the global financial crisis, which has brought out fruitful achievements in Kazakhstan-China practical cooperation.
He said his country is willing to work closely with China to strengthen cooperation in the areas of the economy and trade, energy, nuclear power, technology and transportation so to consolidate cooperation in adjacent regions of the two nations and promote common development.
