Description: In March the temperature in Rajasthan starts to go up and up and up, peaking at nearly 50 degrees in May. At over 1,000 metres elevation, Mount Abu is a little haven of freshness and lushness in what is otherwise arid desert. I felt very at home here, despite the palm trees and weird rock formations. There was something quite "Scottish" about the temperatures after being baked down on the plains. Mt Abu is an extremely bizarre place though. It's a holiday resort for India's bourgeoisie and a place of pilgrimage for those who have adopted the Brahma Kumari faith. There was also a significant amount of Tibetans living there.
