Description of an OBDII O2 sensor simulator for off-road applications. This device replicates the signal from a rear O2 sensor so that the user may run without a rear sensor or catalytic converter. This is advantageous in racing applications where high flow turbo-back exhaust systems benefit performance by eliminating back pressure after the turbo.

The device has been designed for and tested on 2002-2003 Subaru WRX ECU's and can work in conjunction with Cobb Tuning Accessport system. Using the Accessport, users can turn on the CEL codes related heated catalyst and rear 02 sensor while using the O2 sensor simulator to provide signal to the ECU. This eliminates problems associated with "not ready" status encountered during OBDII emissions diagnostics. States such as New Hampshire will not inspect vehicles with emissions "not ready" codes.
