    I recently taught myself how to speak Swahili! I figured why not share what I learned so others can learn too. What's on this video is basic words beginners should know, how to count in swahili and easy popular songs to learn. If you can memorize this entire video then you have passed the class! :)

    Kiesha - Hi my name is Kiesha
    Jina langu ni Kiesha

    Elsie - and my name is Elsie
    Na jina langu ni Elsie

    Kiesha - I am learning Swahili
    Mimi najifunza Kiswahili

    Elsie - I aleady know Swahili but I speak "Sheng" (slang)


    Kiesha - Learning Swahili is somewhat difficult
    Kujifunza Kiswahili nigumu kidogo

    Elsie - But you're doing well and will be ready for our Kenya trip


    Kiesha - Thank you sister!
    Asante sana dada!

    Elsie - Karibu sana dada!
    You're very welcome sister!

    Kiesha - Right now I speak very slowly & with only a few words

    Elsie - What's your favorite thing to say?


    Kiesha - I like to say "Woot Woot"
